Redirecting Godaddy URL to blogger

If you have a domain name registered and want to use it as an blog site,
One option is to go for a blog hosting service provider, with a monthly charge.

Another option is to simply create a blog on blogger.com and redirect our domain name to this blog.

General steps for this redirection are very much available on blogger.com
1. Domain name setup
2. blooger account setup

Lets set it for a domain name registered with Godaddy.com

1. Get the IP address of your blog on blogger.
on Windows OS
Go to Start->Run->cmd
On command line, type
ping yourblog.blogspot.com
This should give you the IP. Note it down.

2. Log in to Godaddy.com account, go to Domain->My Domains
And click the domain name link you want to redirect to your blog.



3. On "Domain Details" screen click on "Total DNS Control and MX Records"



4. On "Total DNS Control Panel" screen edit two fields
1) Under A(Host)
@ -> IP address, we got at step 0 ( e.g. 65.121.134.178 )
2) Under CNAMES(Aliases)
www -> ghs.google.com

5. Now Go back to "Domain Details" and click on 'Forwarding'
and Enable forwarding to your blog on blogger.



6. Now setup blogger account. Log in to blogger.com
Select the blog Settings. ( Advance Settings for Custom Domain)
and setup your domain name.



Thats it !!

Blogger help says, it may take 48 hours to see this redirection in action. In my case in took only 1/2 hr. So wait for some time, and check.
